This is an update to my animation. I have added some shadows to the origami models using the flip tool in After Effects and I have also played around with the keying more to get rid of the flake parts that appeared in some of the models.

Adding Shadows
After Effects provides a plug-in 3D effect that can provide shadows to layers. However I did not use this method because it did not turn out correctly and the shadows would not read the keylight effect. Instead I duplicated the object layer and then used the flip preset. I then used the fill tool to make the flipped object black to give the shadow appearance. I then used the Gaussian blur and turned the opacity down which made the shadow a bit more dynamic.
